 to Say About Us!

We had a great ride with Susan!  I have a grumpy 14 year old who doesn't like nature but loves horses and is a very experienced English rider.  Trail rides are usually a so-so experience I use as an opportunity to spend time with my kid.  Usually, it's slow moving with horses that just do nose-to-tail.  Susan's ride was totally different.  We were able to select a fast-paced ride with ample opportunity for trotting and cantering in spectacular scenery.  Because Susan knows the terrain and her horses are well trained, I felt safe, had no frustration, and really had a blast. Even my son said he would endure the 2 hour car trip to come back to ride with Susan again!

Best trail ride I have been on - beautiful horses and Susan was a great guide, wonderful ride all around.

Great for experienced riders looking for a faster paced trail ride adventure.

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience here! Susan took the time to really teach us about riding. The trail we went on was perfect for our level. My daughter was very excited to learn how to trot. Susan was on time for our lesson and was fun and kind even though it was freezing cold. We will definitely be back for more lessons.

Susan operates one of the best trail ride operations we have experienced.  The horses are her priority and the care she tirelessly bestows on them is clearly evident.  They are happy, healthy, well adjusted, beautiful horses.

Susan is also one of the best riding instructors I've had the pleasure to meet.  Your trail ride will not be a boring walk on a well worn trail.  She will patiently teach you to connect with your horse; and build respect and confidence with the beautiful animal that has granted you the privilege to ride on its back.

Please do be aware that some of the rides will require a drive out from the meeting location.  Estimate an extra 30 minutes before you get into the saddle.

We had such a wonderful experience and will be back!

Thank you Susan for a wonderful day out.

Covid has encouraged us more than ever to become "tourists in our backyard". That said, we were looking for something exciting and classy to make our weekend trip to Point Reyes all the more special. We are so, so happy we stopped at Point Reyes Arabian Adventures. It truly lives up to its ratings on Trip Advisor and Yelp.

BACKGROUND: I should preface my review with a brief story: a few years ago, my husband and I did horseback riding at a different place in the area. Although it was my husband's first time horseback riding then, his adventurous spirit did not take a liking to the experience. That he was not super excited when I suggested we try out Point Reyes Arabian Adventures made the fact thanked me several times for booking the 1 hour ride with Susan all the more telling of our experience.

Upon arrival, my husband noticed how clean the horses were and that we had to wear a helmet (these were clear differences from our experience at the previous ranch). We also appreciated how Susan did require we wear helmets, as it is better to be safe than sorry.

STATS: The first 25 minutes of our one hour ride were spent practicing turns, trotting and how to sit on the horse. We went through obstacle courses. Susan paid close attention to each rider to make sure their techniques were correct. Throughout the ride, she also balanced conversation with the riders while sprinkling historical/ecological facts about the region we traversed (She also got some great pictures of us, so extra plus). At the summit, we were able to see about 1/3 of the Tomales Bay. The views were really beautiful, and we did not see them while hiking.

According to my Garmin watch, we covered 2.61 miles (average pace 29:40 min/mile) and ascended 446 feet.

MISCELLANEOUS: You can fill out the waiver ahead of time on the website. Susan was nice enough to pair us with matching horses (Indie and Rabbit), making our photos all the more "instagrammable".

We highly recommend Point Reyes Arabian Adventures for a memorable, exciting, and lovely adventure. In fact, we would recommend this place to our friends in California as well as our family in Europe (when they visit).

We had an incredible experience with Susan. I haven't been on a horse in 15+ years and Susan made me feel comfortable while having lots of fun! I even trotted and cantered! Beautiful gentle horses, amazing views of the Tomales Bay, confident teacher, what more can you ask for? Highly recommend!

Susan the owner of the stable is a sweetheart. She is super knowledgeable and makes you feel comfortable whether you have experience riding or not. Her horses are wonderful. We rode Cody, summer, and Bella. The views are wonderful and we learned some things about the area and horses. Close to point Reyes town and Olema Campground. Highly recommended

Wonderful riding in beautiful locations. Well behaved horses and excellent equipment. Susan is experienced and was very patient with the younger kids. Everything was well organized and on time. Highly recommend.

PRAA was recommended to me by another Bay Area trail riding operation as a great place for more experienced riders. Susan and her lovely mounts did not disappoint! I joined a two hour ride which included some other experienced riders. The trail was beautiful and the horses were a pleasure! These are not the sad looking trail horses you often see in nose to tail operations -- they are happy, healthy and exceptionally well trained and well mannered. I grew up owning and riding horses, but it's been a while and I'm a little rusty. We had plenty of opportunities to trot and canter, which felt great and Susan offered some helpful reminders and tips along the way. I can imagine that she'd also provide a fun, safe and educational experience for beginner riders. I'd feel good about bringing non-horsey friends knowing we'd all have a good time. This was exactly what I needed in these stressful times, and I'll definitely be making riding with Susan a regular activity.

I really can't speak highly enough of Suzie and her adored horses. Suzie is very kind and a wonderful teacher. She's extremely patient with children and even child-like adults.

The horses here are very gentle and yet not inattentive to their riders. Even an inexperienced rider can get a feel for what it's like to have a responsive and well trained horse.

The trail rides are dynamic and enchanting in the beautiful countryside. No plodding along here, you will have fun and you will be tired afterword as you will get a workout.

I used to ride years ago with Suzie and had to take a break because of having a child and life in general. I'm so happy that now I can ride again and bring my daughter with me (she's having a fabulous time, taking lessons on the property, way high up on the top of the hill) we even have started a little group with some of her friends to take lessons at the same time. Perfect for this Covid climate and social distancing.

My children (8 and 10  years old) and I needed a little bump to our moods during this non traveling summer so we went out to meet Susan and her wonderful horses.  I've been riding my whole life, my daughter has ridden for years and my son has never ridden in his life.  We all had a blast!  Susan instructed my son on a completely safe horse while my daughter and I got to move ahead and have fun on our own.  The scenery was stunning, the riding was wonderful and Susan was knowledgable and charming.  A win all around!!!

We had an absolutely wonderful time with Susan and Matthew! We (well, mostly my wife) decided to go for a ride at the last-minute on a chilly, January Sunday morning. We called in the morning and got a just-cancelled slot at 1:30. My wife and I are in our early 50's and in pretty good shape. My wife rode many years ago, and I have a little too - but long, long ago. We were a bit concerned that my wife's replacement hip would be an issue. Turned out not to be a problem at all! Wife rode English and I Western. Susan was very attentive and made sure that we were set up correctly. She gave us some tips (after seeing that we were not total beginners) and off we went. It was a pretty cold day, so we went through the trees along the ridge over San Geronimo valley. Susan provided two fabulous horses (Summer and Wyatt). We look forward to our next ride! Susan is a dedicated, passionate professional who cares as much for her horses as she does for her guests. It's the kind of attention to detail that one doesn't always see these days.

I rode when I was a child and teenager quite a bit but was never able to find a stable for day rides where the horses were good and the rides interesting. So as an adult I have not ridden much. Well I am happy to say I have found the stable! Our horses were wonderful and Susan was a fantastic lead and guide. We (a party of 5) took a two hour ride with trotting and some cantering. Some of our party were beginners and they got coaching and the right horses so they were comfortable and greatly enjoyed themselves. Her horses are riding horses, not just trail horses. They are well trained and my horse was such a treat to ride. Absolutely well behaved and calm but responsive. I will absolutely be back. The landscapes were spectacular also. It was just such a pleasure. Susan is calm, attentive, and highly skilled, a real horsewoman. It is a gift to be able to ride these horses.

Suzi is a pro.  Simple as that.  She is thoughtful when matching horse and rider, and I'm grateful getting corrections from a pro.  I've ridden with her at least twenty times and never been disappointed.  Where safe to do so, we trot and canter.

It's a huge treat to spend a few hours on a well trained, well cared for, forward horse. Grateful for Suzi's passion and her commitment to sharing her love of horses.

Love riding here whenever we visit San Francisco. Susan is great and provides instruction throughout the ride to me (some riding experience) and husband (beginner). The 2 hour trail is gorgeous. The horses are very well trained and will take care of you. Wish we could groom and tack to get to know the horse before we get on, but I get that would be a headache to manage. Susan clearly cares about horse welfare. She doesn't allow trotting downhill and changed horses before our ride because one had a swollen tendon. Horses get to stop for water on the trail and she provides bottles of water for all riders. Great for beginners or experienced riders, English or Western.

I am super happy and had so much fun with my experience at point reyes arabian adventure! The trail was beautiful, horses were amazing and Suzanne gave us great instructions! We managed to book the same day, Suzanne has been super accommodating with us as we called last minute and we were all beginners :) I had Cinderella, magnificent and gorgeous horse, the trail was amazing with a beautiful view down the bay. I am glad we made it and highly recommend this service

I had such a great time! The horses are amazing and so sweet. Suzie was really welcoming and friendly. I'm not too comfortable on a horse so she made me feel confident and safe. Will definitely be returning!!

I've ridden with Susie several times and it's always such a treat to ride her lovely Arabians and visit beautiful Pt Reyes! It's a fun activity for folks all ages and all experience levels. Would 100% recommend taking a ride and getting in a great view of the water!

One of the best riding options in the Bay Area, not to be missed! I am an experienced rider and have ridden for years, I like to ride with Susan and her horses for both the Tamales Bay ride which goes up a nice hillside trail with a nice variation in terrain, and at the top there are amazing views of the bay and surrounding area. I also like to do the longer forest trail rides, and I always take my friends and visitors that want to try riding to Susan. Her horses are the absolute best "bomb proof" horses and I have ridden all over the world. Susan is a true horse whisperer and I trust her 100% with myself and the friends and family I have taken to ride with her.  The area is stunning for beauty and Point Reyes is a wonderful little tiny town that is super fun to go have a drink or bite to eat after riding.

There is also the oyster farms up the road and a Meadery across the road and Winery just up the road. All around going riding with Susan and then spending the day in Point Reyes is one of my number one top local things to do for a weekend. Come with a sense of adventure, be sure to wear your sunscreen, and you will have the best time ever! Susan is also really awesome with working with different levels so I can bring my friends that have never ridden but I too can also do a few canters and get to ride in a way that fits for my experience.

I have ridden with Susan many times. From my first experience, riding one of her well trained horses on the huge hill at her facility ( it must be 100 acres and allows for canters) to long trail rides in West Marin.

At other operations I have witnessed people wanting to ride beyond their abilities and it does not end well. As an experienced rider I appreciate how careful she is with both her horses and clients, assuring safety for both.  Riding with Susan is always fabulous, on the trail or enjoying the hills of Point Reyes.

Had a wonderful trail ride with Suzi, up to a viewpoint above protected Kent Lake. We let them know our experience level and preferred style (English/Western) ahead of time. Since I have more experience, I went with Rachel and my less experienced boyfriend stayed closer to Suzi for some 1:1 instruction. I was proud of him for trotting and cantering up the hills and learning as he went. When we arrived, they tacked the horses and then we trailered out of town about 15 minutes near to a golf course, and walked through a small neighborhood street to the trail. We went up the forested path to a viewpoint, and then came down - about a 2 hour ride which was perfect. Suzi's attention to her clients is apparent, as is her dedication to horse training. These were the best trail horses I've seen. It was a lovely experience and I highly recommend it!

I second Annie, if I could give Suzy 15 stars I would. After trying 6+ differences places in the Bay Area, I've settled on Pt Reyes Arabian Adventures as my favorite, and one of my all time favorites anywhere. Suzy is a delight, ready laugh yet a serious equestrian, she's been riding and training her whole life, loves her horses and takes great care of them. The horses are super fit and forward - and the scenery, oh my gosh, forests, ridge lines, meadows, ocean views, we see the best of California. No nose to tail, even beginners or novices get out trotting on the trail, she'll teach along the way. If you get with experienced riders it's an exhilarating couple hours of tally ho. Whether you're beginner or expert, just visiting or local, this is as good as it gets!

Susan did a great job selecting horses to fit each rider in our group and they were so well trained. It was the best experience that I've had on a horse. Great views from the trail. We all had a wonderful time. Will return.  Thank you Susan!

Regardless of one's ability level, Susan's horses know their job and will take care of  riders.  We walked, trotted and cantered on her gorgeous property with breathtaking vistas.  The horses are happy, responsive and sweet.  Not your typical nose to butt ride!

A great guide, beautiful scenery, and happy horses that are very well cared for.

The horses are different than anywhere else - I've never ridden a horse that was so responsive and did everything I asked of him on the first try.

Suzan has the right horse for every rider - from very gentle ones for kids to slightly wild ones for the very experienced rider, and every one with its own beauty and personality.

My ten year old niece did her first canter and is fascinated.

Annie K.

If I could give 15 stars I would. That's how amazing this day was. Suzan not only takes you out but teaches you how to ride properly. I had trouble with my canter, and Suzan was right there to save the day! The horses have so much personality, and they are all so beautiful. Suzan is extremely attentive and talks about Petaluma, the Bay, Point Reyes, and some hot spots during the 1.5 hour ride. I go out once a week on trail horses in Los Angeles, and they would NEVER educate you the way Suzan does. In fact getting pointers is pretty much impossible unless you make friends with your guides and ask questions.

That is not Suzan! She's a great instructor, my boyfriend and I had an amazing time! Thank you thank you Suzan. If you're at San Fran it is a genius idea to rent a car and spend the day in nature. When I am in the Bay Area I will stop by again...

XOXO

Had a great time with Suzan and her horses. We took a 2hr ride up the trails in the rain. Me and my 9-year-old. It was fantastic. The horses were very responsive and Suzan provided good coaching to my son on the way.

This past weekend, Susan took me, my boyfriend, and 4 other friends on a very pretty trail ride in Tomales Bay. Although it was a bit rainy, we were still excited to go...rain or shine! Susan's stable came as a recommendation from a good friend who is a serious rider. My boyfriend and I researched a few places before contacting Susan. What sets Susan's stable apart from other places is that she is very passionate about her job and takes great care of her horses. Happy horses=happy riders!

We were mostly beginners so Susan adjusted each one of us on our saddle before we started riding. We practiced turning before going on the trail. When we reached the trail, we got to trot a few times up and down the hill!!

My boyfriend and I had a blast and we will definitely be back. Susan is so professional and very strong! She manages 13 horses and even provides beginner and advanced lessons to riders.

Thank you so much Susan! I can't wait to be back with just my boyfriend and venture into the forest with you, Chainsaw (my horse) and Wyatt (my boyfriend's horse).

I was here several years ago with a friend and I loved it so much that when I came back to Point Reyes I had to come back for a second time. Susan, the owner, is very accommodating. You definitely will get a ride with spectacular views. I highly recommend coming here. I can't wait to come back!

The owner is very sweet and even though we got totally soaked I had a lovely time and would ride with this company again.

Love that the horses here are rescues. The "Tomales bay" trail ride is actually up the hill overlooking Tomales bay, though not what I imagined, it was picturesque nonetheless. They offer both English and western styles and the guide is both patient and informative. It was an extremely enjoyable hour!

Went with 4 friends for one of their birthday and it was a wonderful experience. All of our hou

Horses had their own personality and though we had some difficulties there were no really problems and we got some great stories and memories from it.

We were all really nervous about going up in the hill and not starting on trails but it was beautiful and the horses were very well trained.

We're from the Bay Area so we had to drive an hour bit it was WELL worth the drive. It wad windy so it was cold and VERY breezy at the top of the hills but the view made it all worth while. I would DEFINITELY go back.

We just got back from two fabulous rides in two days with Suzie and her fine pegasuses.  One of us has been on six rides with Suzie over the last eight years, and all of those experiences were fabulous.  The other has ridden long distance rides in at least 20 countries.  We found Suzie's horses to be unbelievably well-trained, safe, and responsive at all gaits.  The trails and views were spectacular.  We rode Indy, Magic, Wyatt, and Summer, the loveliest, smoothest, and gentlest mare in the world. Both of us will be back.

I brought the girlfriend here for her birthday and it was amazing! It was both of our first time on a horse and we were pretty impressed with how well trained the horses were.

She was riding Rabbit who was apparently trained enough that the gf didn't even really need to use the reigns. When the group stopped, Rabbit stopped. When the group started moving, Rabbit started moving, too.

I was riding Summer. She had a mind of her own but was just as well-trained as Rabbit. Only thing I had to do was to remind her to stop; she was a line-cutter and wanted to decide where she should be in the line.

Susan was great. It really seemed like she knew what she was doing and was super patient with us first-time riders and a child in the other group. She was good about giving us reminders throughout the ride so that we would be able to have more control over the horses and a more enjoyable ride. Also, we had missed our exit by a lot on the drive up which made us about 30 minutes late for our appointment but I had called to let Susan know and she was super cool about it and waited for us to arrive. However, she did have three other people that she was prepping to go on the ride, too. Nevertheless, it was very kind of her to assure us that we would be ok.

The scenery was great. Everything was super green and the sun was shining but it was still really cold and windy. Best birthday ever for the gf.

I LOVE Suzie and her amazing horses!  What a great birthday gift!  In late January, it was wonderful to ride in a small group (Suzie, me, boyfriend, and two other gals) on a beautiful day with gorgeous views of Tomales Bay and the surrounding area.  Keep in mind that these are Suzie's personal horses - not your average rental horses.  And another amazing thing is that ALL of her horses are RESCUES - bless her!   8-)  It's clear that she loves these horses and has trained them well.  I was lucky to get Wyatt, and at times I had to hold him back because he just wanted to go even faster.  He was a fabulous gentle giant (originally a premarin foal - part draft horse)  I was really RIDING, not a just a passenger on an under-loved, under-trained, and over-worked typical rental horse (and this is important if you're an experienced rider).  Her horses and her care will facilitate beginners as well as those who've giddy-upped before.  Yeehaw - I'll be back!

Came here with a group of 6 to go riding on Saturday 1/11/14. One woman (Suzy? English accent I think) ran the entire show from prepping the horses, getting each of us comfortable, and providing instruction and tips to all while on the ride. The views were incredible (especially for not having to do the leg work) and my horse (Chainsaw) was easy to work with (my first time riding and no issues). Even a little galloping! Great experience. I will be back.

Wonderful experience riding with hubbie and Susan. I love that it's not nose to tail riding. You get a short lesson at the beginning of the ride with useful tips on how to communicate with your horse to make the ride more enjoyable. She takes each rider's comfort level and experience into consideration and customizes the ride to your abilities. We even got to canter a few times! A much more personalized experience.

I took my sister for a birthday ride provided by Suzie's Arabian Adventures. What a fantastic treat. We saw glorious country and got to trot and canter. Suzie is a very knowledgeable horse woman and explained something about riding that I had been unable to get in previous lessons. The horses were wonderful: fit, well-treated, well-trained! We are going back in October for a longer ride.

Rode with Suzie a couple years ago -- you will not be disappointed! I'm an experienced rider and this was an unforgettable ride. Suzie has a ranch in the hills, or can trailer horses directly to the trailhead on Point Reyes. Her Arabian gelding, Merlin, was a very comfortable ride. Brisk canters on the beach sand were exhilarating! She's a knowledgeable horseperson and trains each of her horses. I'd recommend to any equestrian visiting the Bay Area, and I'd also trust her with beginners and children. Quite a ride! I'll be back next time I'm in the area.

Just went for a two hour advanced ride on Susie's Arabians - Codi and Merlin, and enjoyed the whole experience thoroughly.  First time on this breed and really loved these powerful responsive horses.  Susie also has quarter horses but we wanted to try out arabians.  Top notched service and amazing well cared horses that clearly adore their owner.   Great views on Whitehill open space and lots of canter and constant fast trotting throughout the rise.  We will be back for more rides on your Arabians, thanks for a blast Susie!  Highly recommended, A+++

Just back from an amazing ride at Arabian Adventures in Point Reyes. Suzie is a gracious hostess and patient teacher, she took us (experienced riders) on a fast-paced two-hour ride over beautiful trails, and the horses were well-mannered, well-trained, spirited, extremely fit angels. Use the bathroom before you go, and in summer have cold drinks waiting in your car and wear lots of sunscreen. Unless you are very fit, you might start with a one-hour ride. Can't wait to go back. Zoom zoom :-)

My boyfriend brought me here as a surprise birthday adventure and we had tons of fun! It was just him, myself, and our trainer Susan. I loved how private our session was. Susan picked out the perfect horses to our skill level and also to our height/weight ratio. I had rabbit and the BF had Summer. Susan also gave us a quick 30 miute riding lesson that showed us the basics and then we were off on our adventure throughout all that acrage she has. She even stopped at spots by the pond and on top of one of the hills to take pictures of us for us. She was such a sweet heart and very knowledgeable about her "craft" as well as the bay area. Even the horses had their own personalities and you can tell they are all very well taken care of and loved. I especially liked the fact that they are all rescues! Kudos to Susan for seeing the quality of horses way after their younger years. I learned alot that day and this iwll defintely be a memorable birthday. We enjoyed this so much, hopefully we will get to come back again soon! Make sure you pick Arabian Adventures as your go to for riding, these folks are the best! Thanks Susanne, Rabbit, and & Summer, we had a blast! :)

My husband and I visited Point Reyes Arabian Adventures November 11, 2012. We went on the 3:30PM ride with one other couple. Suzie(owner) led the group, while one of her helpers tagged along too. I have been riding since I could walk, and own horses. The woman of the other couple we were with was the same level of riding experience as I, while both of our husbands had only ridden 1 or 2 times before. They had 2 PERFECT horses for the guys, and put us 2 women on mounts that matched our skill level. I was able to gallop my awesome dun gelding 3 or 4 times, and man was he trained much better than I would have expected. Suzie CERTAINLY has horses that will match your level of experience. All riders were given the option to walk trot and canter. The horse that she put my husband on stepped up right into a rocking horse canter, none of that annoying trotting business in-between. It sure changed his views on horses, and told me he wanted to go again, which is saying a lot!

The place is a very simple setup, situated on 100 acres. The horses have access to 80 acres of pasture while not being ridden, in fact while we were riding we came across a couple horses out there quite a bit.

The tack she has is all regularly cleaned and in good condition. She has english and western tack to choose from. I highly recommend this to others!

Finally got my "cowboy" on and took my first-ever horseback riding lessons with Susan and Peter. For this kid from San Francisco-- well actually I'm 60(!)-- it was an unforgettable experience. Susan is amazing! (That she could get ME up to a trot is a testament to that.) My lessons were mixed in with a trail ride and I always looked forward to riding my horse Nicky. That I was less than an hour away from The City and on trails-- on horseback no less!-- encountering hawks, bobcats and turkey vultures and more was wonderful and the rides to the bluffs overlooking the ocean? Awesome!

Susan and Peter provide excellent instruction, very patient but also wanting you to progress and become a better rider all the while enjoying the beauty of the Point Reyes area. Their style is always one of positive reinforcement.

It's been over a year since my last ride but I am looking forward to returning. Five stars and tally-ho!

Not your usual trail ride!

I can't believe that I hadn't written anything until now but I was just reminiscing in my office about the amazing ride that I took in April. I cannot say enough good things about Susan, her two regulars who joined for a _very_ long trail ride, the horses, and the entire experience.

The trail and views were spectacular, my beautiful Arabian (my favorite breed) was calm and a perfect listener but was also easy to push into a higher gear with a little squeeze. Susan and her company were friendly, welcoming, interesting, and I enjoyed some great conversations when the pace slowed. My only caution is to not overestimate your riding endurance because Susan is a machine and the Arabians love to move! The experience was exhausting but perfect for me as an intermediate rider. I will note that the extra sheepskin saddle padding was very welcome :)

Absolutely don't hesitate to book a ride. Anytime that I'm in the area, I'll be returning. And thanks Susan for a ride that I'll always remember!

Suzie was amazing. I am an experienced rider and came to do a trail hour ride with my boyfriend who has never ridden before.

Suzie started him off with a lesson, answered all his questions/concerns, and he was able to trot towards the end. He went from being a total skeptic to someone who would do it again in just an hour! I got to do some cantering, which was fun.

On top of that, the views on the trail were stunning, and it is clear that Suzie treats her horses very well. I would not hesitate to recommend her to both experienced and beginner riders.

Rode with Point Reyes Arabian Adventures today - a fantastic experience!  I will definitely return, and I will highly recommend it to anyone interested in riding.  When I arrived, I met a very friendly young woman grooming and prepping the horses.  The horses looked bright, well cared for, and healthy.

Susan is very knowledgeable... obviously about riding and horsemanship - but also about the surrounding area.  While leading our ride, she took time to point out wildlife, landmarks, geography, and more.  The views were beautiful!

My friend had very limited riding experience - and Susan provided her with tips, and guidance.  She had us all comfortably trotting halfway through our ride.  Although I grew up riding, it's been years - and I really feel like a raw beginner!  I really enjoyed the "lesson" and all the beauty.

This is a great place - no matter what your riding experience.  I will return, and hope you check it out, too! Cheers.

I had my first experience today riding with Suzy and I have to say it was the most wonderful experience ever. I started riding when I was 10 and had lessons but for the past off the horseback riding wagon for a while, only doing some trails here and there. My friend was visiting and was a beginner, had never ridden before. Suzy had us practice in the arena for a quite a bit which was nice because I hadn't had any formal training in quite some time and was very patient with us. The horses were beautiful and very loved. One was following her voice! She is quite the horse whisperer.  I highly recommend going on this specific trail because it caters to novices and experienced riders alike. Views are breath taking and the ranch has an old rustic feel to it. I will definitely be going back!

Had an awesome time!  First time riding.  Susan is instructive, encouraging, and very friendly.  Was given a 2-hour ride with Susan and my friend and I enjoyed every minute.  Horses seem well trained and friendly.  Wish I could make it a regular hobby.  Can't wait for a chance to go back.  I traveled from Daly City/SF area- worth it!

I am a horse owner and have ridden my whole life and competed in college.  I have ridden with Susie on her horses on two occasions.

The first time I took two friends who also own and are experienced riders.  Excellent ride including the beach.  Because of our level of experience we were able to ride fast and were delighted to find the horses very responsive and forward.  Not your typical trail horses.

The second time I brought a young girl with limited experience (summer camp).  She was able to use a western saddle, and Susie was wonderful with her.  I felt like she not only got a nice trail ride, but also a lesson as well.  BTW, it rained all day but that didn't stop any of us!

It is rare to find a facility where you can ride "rentals" and not find yourself walking nose to tail on horses that are barn sour or seem sad.  Pt. Reyes Arabians are fresh, well behaved and well trained.  A novice to advanced rider can go there and have an excellent experience!

I've been on many trail rides and Suzy, owner of Point Reyes Arabian Adventures, does one of the best.  I just went on my second ride this weekend and loved it - the first time I rode Summer this time i rode Nicky.  The trails were beautiful and we did a lot of walk, trot, canter - the horses were impeccably well behaved.

I would recommend Point Reyes Arabian Adventures to both beginners and experienced riders.  Next time I visit San Francisco I will be visiting Suzy.

My family and I were in Point Reyes for vacation; we'd already hiked and viewed and eaten--and eaten some more.  My partner is afraid of horses, but our kids (22 and 16) and I wanted to see the area on horse.  My son had never been on a horse and my daughter and I hadn't ridden since Girl Scout camp.

I can't emphasize how accommodating and understanding Suzie was about our complete inexperience.  The horses-- Nicky, Rabbit and Summer---were gentle and well-trained.  They were still animal enough that we needed to lead them, but sweet and careful enough that I was never afraid any of us could get hurt.  When Summer decided to have her own way,  Suzie got off her own horse and led Summer by the reins to keep her from doing something crazy.  She gave us helmets and emphasized the safest ways to ride, both for us and the horses.

The ride toward the wetlands was spectacular---showcasing the glory of the flatlands and marshes, and Suzie pointed out the bird wildlife as we went, also avoiding the dustiest of trails when she could.

It was a highlight experience--I'm sure we'll do it again, as soon as we return to Point Reyes again.

My girl and I took the ridge ride last weekend. The guides were helpful and accommodating without being overbearing, the horses seemed healthy and well cared-for, the trail was beautiful, and the ride perfectly paced.

Suzy, the owner and lead guide, is a charming lady; she has an easy manner and manages your time on the trail well. We walked the horses mostly, but also did a fair amount of vigorous trotting and cantering. We stopped for photos a couple of times, and Suzy was kind enough to hop off her horse and offer to take photos for whomever desired them. I've forgotten the name of other guide who was with us, but she was sweet and helpful as well.

The price was fair, the ride was splendid, and the company was entertaining. All in all very well worth the money and time spent. We will definitely be going back.

Just came back from a wonderful time riding horses.  Suzy loves what she does and it shows from how well behaved her horses are.  This was our very first time riding horses and I must admit, I was pretty scared when we drove up.  The horses are huge compared to watching them on TV. Haha  We had the pleasure of riding Summer and Jig Saw.  We rode out along the Bay and I was at awe with the views.  The horses are very easy to ride, so easy it seems as if the horses were on Auto Pilot!

If you're planning on trying to ride horses for the first time you must check out this place.  Suzy had us up and riding in less than 5 minutes.  Suzy is a wonderful teacher/owner.

I wanted to do something special for my girlfriend's birthday, and I really wanted to take her horseback riding for her first time since she loves animals and nature. I spent a lot of time searching for places in the Bay Area and had a hard time finding any that looked good for beginners (ie, safety is important, guides/instructors around, etc).

Then I discovered reviews for Arabian Adventures and called Suzie. From our first conversation I knew it would be a good experience--she was very professional and friendly on the phone; I explained to her about my girlfriend's first time, and she was excited.

From the moment we arrived, the experience was tip-top. The Arabian horses were beautiful and it was obvious they were well-cared for and well treated. Suzie helps train and house neglected and abandoned horses, so training and riding is her passion and it clearly shows.

From the beginning, Suzie and one other guide introduced us to the horses, taught us how to control the horses and instruct them. My gf had a blast--if she was nervous, I didn't see it. Once on the ride, Suzie kept providing helpful tips to my gf on how to sit, how to hold a stance and begin a trot.

Needless to say, both of us had a wonderful experience--we did the 1.5 hour valley ride on trails in Pt Reyes and it was spectacular . We did some walking, trotting, hills, and my gf was beaming. I'm glad I was able to share a bit of nature and horseback riding with her. I would highly recommend Suzie , especially for new riders and also for experienced ones. We would definitely go back  (and my gf may be thinking that soon!)

Thank you Susan for that amazing experience. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with you and your beautiful, well trained horses.  Point Reyes is an ideal location for a gentle ride and you made us feel very comfortable very quickly.  We all look forward to seeing you and the horses (Summer, Nicky, Kodi and Rabbit) very soon again.  A ride with you has just been added to our Thanksgiving tradition!

Great experience!  On top of Point Reyes to die for views, these are well cared for great horses.  They are not the least bit jaded and have as much fun as the riders while they are out on the trail.  It is wonderful to see an operation like this one!

Since this original post I have ridden with Suzy several times and will be back lots more!!

Had a GREAT day riding with Suzy.

Things I look for in a horse riding adventure are:

1) Happy Horses

2) Happy Horses

3) Well mannered Horses

4) Clean facility

5) A staff that cares

6) Happy Horses

Suzy and her team meet all of the above.

The horses are her pets, she knows their temperaments, and has trained them well.

She was great about instructions and let us ride to our ability (after much scrutiny) which was soooo much better than a nose to ass trail riding experience.  Not only will I go back but I think it was the best hundred bucks I've spent in a really long time (Also cheaper than owning).

Go, you'll have fun.

Plus- no horse prison!

Thanks to Yelp I found Suzie and her beautiful Arabians and Quarter horses. I booked a 2-hour ride with friends for my birthday and Suzie did a fantastic job providing instruction and guidance to everyone - especially because some of my friends had never been on a horse.

Actually I need to give Suzie mad props in this area because one rider could not understand how to position themselves and she corrected them the entire 2-hour ride in firm yet friendly manner. Considering I was ready to hit them with the switch I have to admire Suzie for her patience.

We went for a great ride at Point Reyes and I'm looking forward to going back again. Pics from our ride here: flickr.com/photos/evolut…

Imagine cantering through fields of wildflowers! Yes, it is possible. After not riding for many years, I went on a trail ride with two friends, and we enjoyed the entire experience. The horses are well-cared for and gentle. Suzie looks out for riders without fussing and gives tips when needed,  which is perfect for a relaxing but safe excursion.

Easily the best trail riding avail in the Bay Area. Other places only allow for nose to tail walking, but the horses here are so well trained and beginners learn how to communicate with their horse and there is opportunity to do some trotting (and cantering too if you have some riding experience). Much more exciting and interactive than your usual horseback trail ride!
